KANGAROOS ULTIMATE 'TRIPLE ZERO'

HOT off the press are these new KangaROOS Ultimate 'Triple Zero' that launched late last week at ROOS retailers around the world. Those who follow ROOS are familiar with the fact that they don't need a boutique to put together an awesome project; they're fully capable of captivating their crowd on their own and this Triple Zero is no exception. 

You don't need to have your focus on the news to know that this planet has been in fiery turmoil for what seems like years straight. Though the fires in Australia and the Amazon Basin are the fuel for this project, I'd like to add my own personal tie to this shoe; California. I live in Northern California (SF Bay Area), which has been heavily affected by fires in recent months...some as close as 20mi from where I live. Thus far in 2020, California has had 4,000,000 acres burned and we still have live fires going. The title however refers to Australia’s emergency number ‘000’.

The team at ROOS put this shoe together with two things in mind; paying respects to those fighting the fires and finding ways to support the wildlife which has been affected. The Ultimate 'Triple Zero' is made up of calf suede, smooth leather, and B-75 material found on used fire hoses + inner lining material from worn firefighting jackets. This tactful layout of materials sit on top of ROOS damping Dynacoil midsole, and is boxed in a graphic designed stiff cardboard box that has illustrations of wood burning, embers, and flames. As always, ROOS packs their shoes with extras so this pair came with the black/3M laces you see in the shoes + tan flat laces and in most cases they also included a poster. Unfortunately, mine didn't come with a poster haha. 

A portion of the proceeds from the limited 517 pairs worldwide was given to kangaroosanctuary.com in Australia to help look after injured marsupials or those separated from their mothers.
